Roiboos Chaga Chai

While you're having your feet up between festivities, treat yourself to a hot, steaming cup of chai. Today I'm sharing my favourite chai recipe, which is caffeine and sugar free and does not cause a sugar crash!

In fact, enhanced by adaptogenic mushroom chaga, this chai adapts to your energy and stress levels and leaves you feeling nourished.

I'm so pleased to share this recipe with you now, as some may have seen this recipe earlier this year in our friends' health magazine Thrive.


Makes: 2 cups

Ingredients:

1 tbsp. roiboos tea

2 ½ cups of almond milk

2 tbsp. ground cinnamon

1 tspn. nutmeg

1 tspn. cardamom

1/2 tspn. ground cloves

1 tbsp. ground ginger

1 tspn. ground vanilla

2 tspn. chaga mushroom powder

2 tbsp. maple syrup

Method

  1. Add almond milk and all the dry ingredients in the pan and start heating it up on medium heat. Make sure that the milk is getting hot, but not boiling. Leave it at a moderate heat for 10min to let the spices infuse.

  2. Strain the tea to individual cups and add maple syrup, 1 tbsp. to each cup.
