Green Winter smoothie

‘Is it really a time for a smoothie?’ you may think. Yet, I’m convinced that it’s an excellent idea this time of the year. And it is not because January is all about diets and cleanses, but because this time of the year we are pretty stressed-out and depleted nutritionally (and it's an excellent trick to clear the lingering December hangovers).

I like to use seasonal, local produce for this as it is packed with more nutrition than vegetables that sat in the supermarket for weeks… Feel free to pick and choose the vegetables depending on what’s in your local farmers market. Also add ginger for some extra warmth.

Serves: 2

Time: 10 minutes


1 cup of kale 1/2 cup of broccoli 1 apple 1/2 lemon 1/2 tsp. grated fresh ginger 1 cup of coconut water


  1. Squeeze the lemon juice and add to the blender together with other products.

  2. Blend until smooth and serve into tall glasses.
